What happens to your SOP when you upload it

Where your file goes
When you upload an SOP, the file is sent to SOPwise and read by an AI model run by Anthropic through their API — the company behind Claude. That's the same processing layer used by businesses that build on Claude. Your file does not go to any other third party.
Whether it's stored
Right now we keep your file. The original SOP you upload stays in our storage, and so does the training package we generate, so you can come back to it on your account. You can delete your training package and your account whenever you want, and when you do, it's gone from your account — not archived, not held in a backup we keep “just in case”. We're working on automatic deletion of the original upload after processing; until that's live, this page tells you exactly what we do, not what we intend to do.
Whether it's used to train AI models
No. SOPwise sends your file to Anthropic through their API, and Anthropic's commercial API terms state that data sent this way is not used to train their models. You can read their policy here: Anthropic — is my data used for model training. We do not train any models of our own on your content, and we do not share your content with anyone else.
What you should still think about
If your SOP contains genuinely sensitive information — supplier names you have NDAs around, named individuals, site-specific safety detail you'd never share publicly — treat the upload the same way you'd treat sending that file to any external software vendor. If you're not sure, upload our example SOP first to see what the output looks like, then decide.
Where we are heading
We're building toward a self-hosted option for customers who can't send anything outside their own systems. If that's you, tell us and we'll keep you on the list for it.
